Penny was a scared, tired, and hungry dog when someone from an animal shelter found her in the city park. She was one of the lucky ones and was placed with a loving and devoted rescue group. But that is just the beginning of her story.
Penny the Pibble is the true story of animal rescue and adoption. Penny is one of the unwanted breeds who have a hard time finding a home. Lucky for her, Penny finds a family willing to take a chance on her. Not only does she gain a great family, she gets a strange new sister to boot!
My new room at the shelter was better than the street, but it wasn't quite what I had been dreaming about. You see, I wanted a real family I could love and snuggle with all day long. The people who rescued me promised I would find a good home soon, although I heard them say I might be hard to adopt because of the way I look.
But then I waited... and waited... Lots of people came by to see me but they all looked and talked and wondered if I might be a Pibble. I did not know what a Pibble was, but you see, some people are afraid of dogs who are Pibbles because they are very strong and muscular. Our heads and jaws are large and people have heard that we are not very nice. Plus, my coat was black and I was not a puppy anymore.
